System Settings Overview
The Settings page provides a view into system roles and teams within SafeGrounds. This page is intended to help users understand how access is structured across the application. The Settings page contains two tabs: Roles and Teams.
Roles
The Roles tab displays the four standard roles available in SafeGrounds:
- Admin
- Case Manager
- Resident Advisor
- Viewer
Each role card shows the total number of users currently assigned to that role.
Viewing Users by Role
Next to the user count for each role is an ellipsis menu. Selecting View Users opens a slide-over panel that displays a list of all users assigned to that role, allowing you to quickly see who holds a specific role without leaving the page.
Viewing Role Permissions
Clicking directly on a role name opens the Role Details page, which displays a read-only view of all permissions associated with that role organized by category:
- Case permissions
- Action permissions
- Profile permissions
- Settings permissions
- Search permissions
Teams
The Teams tab displays a list of all teams configured within SafeGrounds. Teams are used to group users and manage access across classifications. The Teams page shows all existing teams by name along with the number of users assigned to each team.
An ellipsis menu is available next to each team with a single option — View Users — which opens a slide-over panel displaying all members of the selected team.
Team Details
Clicking on a team name opens the Team Details page where admins can manage classification-related access for the team. The Team Details page is divided into two sections:
Classifications
The Classifications section displays the classifications the team currently has access to. Admins can update permissions for these classifications directly from this section. Any changes made here affect how team members can interact with cases under the selected classifications.
Potential Classifications
The Potential Classifications section controls which classifications require approval before cases can be classified under them. Potentials are used so that cases are not classified under a particular classification without approval.
Previewing and Saving Changes
When classification or potential classification changes are made a Preview Changes button appears. Clicking it displays a summary of pending updates including:
- Users Who Are Impacted — Users whose access will change if the update is saved
- Classification Owners Notified — Classification owners who will receive notifications
Review this information carefully before proceeding. Click Save to apply the changes or Cancel to discard them and return to the Teams list.
